The series of the European Music Analysis Conferences began in 1989, more than thirty five years ago, with the Congrès Européen d’Analyse Musicale organized by the SFAM in Colmar. Since then, ten conferences have been organized, in average about one every three or four years: Colmar, 1989; Trento, 1991; Montpellier, 1995; Rotterdam, 1999; Bristol, 2002; Freiburg, 2007; Rome, 2011; Leuven, 2014; Strasbourg, 2017; Moscow , 2021. The number of papers read in these conferences grew steadily, from 47 in EuroMAC 1 (1989) to 409 in EuroMAC 10 (2021).
